Many of these accountants, who do not yet have their CPA license, and have been classified as exempt (paid a salary), are very likely owed significant overtime wages. Under California law, these workers must usually be paid hourly - despite what the employer says. This means that for all work days over 8 hours and for most weekend work - especially during tax season - these workers are owed overtime pay, plus interest. |
